Journal Entry:
"Sitting at the Paris airport, waiting for our flight to Mumbai. 'Travis says hi'. He can't stand it if I am not paying attention to him, haha. He is so cute. We've had a crazy several hours. Flying to Paris, finding our way through the airport, walking out into the freezing cold Paris winter with only our India summer clothes on, taking the shuttle to our hotel (hoping it's the right shuttle), trying to check in speaking French, only to have the guy speak back to us in English, finding a restaurant, it being over-priced, going to the bar instead and splitting a grilled cheese... Needless to say doing all of this jet lagged seemed a lot harder than it really should have been.
It's funny to be constantly aware of money, trying not to spend too much, trying to stretch our trip longer. I have even been using coins in the U.S. and France, making every cent count.
Holiday Inn was unusually expensive, but I guess near an airport that is what you will get. And it was nice to have a comfortable bed to sleep in and one last bath to shave my legs in before the unknown of sleeping and bathing in India. We were up by 3 am when neither of us could fain sleep any longer.
It's so touristy to be sitting here in the airport writing in my 'travel journal', but it will be worth it to have a written documentary of our adventures!
It's about half and half at our gate, we are not the only 'whities' (as I will dub people throughout our trip who look like they may come from an English speaking country, not politically correct, but an easy abbreviation when conversing with Travis only). I am sure some people are American, or maybe most are French, though I did see one guy with a backpack with a Canadian Flag on it. Not sure if they do that for National Pride, or as Travis says, 'To distinguish themselves from Americans because 'you guys' have a bad reputation traveling and abroad'! ha!
We will arrive at midnight in Mumbai and probably won't see the chaos until we wake up and have to change hotels. Sigh. It is exciting and nerve wracking at the same time....!

Briana, showered, drinking hot tea, jet lagged and starting to read Shantaram, http://www.shantaram.com/, thank you Nikki!

Travis looking bright and happy, excited to be in Paris and for our India adventure.
